For 90 years Waldmann has produced high
quality writing utensils from solid 925 sterling silver and plated
brass with a surprising diversity of forms and variations.
Waldmann began in 1918 as a manufacturer
of high quality mechanical pencils of gold and silver. The company is
located, in Birkenfeld near Pforzheim, the traditional area of German
jewellery manufacturing . Everything produced in the Waldmann
workshops has been produced using traditional as well as modern
technology. The Waldmann factory employs a high degree of automation
by professional craftsmen with many years of experience. The
commitment to innovation and intricate metal-working has a long
tradition. For example the four-coloured pencil that received the
silver medal at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1937. This writing
instrument was exceptional at the time on account of its function and
design. Today Waldmann sees itself as a specialist for exceptional
surfaces and remains true to its maxim "Made in Germany".
